One week from today, the Regular Session will come to an end.

Today, is a big day.  Senate Bill 1581, the school finance bill, is on the House Floor this afternoon.  That bill is a “must pass” for the budget to balance.

After several meltdowns last week – the House Appropriations Bill, House Bill 1 – is officially off to the printer.  The full House and Senate are expected to take up the final budget’s conference committee report later this week.  They hope to take it up Thursday to help ensure that a Senate Filibuster can’t kill it.

HB 4 by Jim Pitts (R-Waxahachie), the supplemental appropriations bill for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2011, is on today’s Senate Intent calendar…
