Prefiled Amendments for: HB 2472
1 Amend H.B. 2472 (house committee report) by adding the
2 following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and
3 renumbering subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:
4 SECTION . Section 2054.051(f), Government Code, is
5 amended to read as follows:
6 (f) The department shall identify opportunities for state
7 agencies to:
8 (1) coordinate with each other in the adoption and
9 implementation of information resources technology projects; and
10 (2) obtain a royalty, license right, or other
11 appropriate means of securing appropriate compensation from
12 information resource systems developed with proprietary
13 information.
FLOOR AMENDMENT
2 numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering subsequent
3 SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:
4 SECTION. Sec. 2054.0401. Additional Powers and
5 Duties of the Internal Auditor. The Internal auditor
6 shall:
7 (1) meaningfully consult with the State Auditor and
8 Comptroller to determine the best practices in
9 contracting for the Department;
10 (2) examine any conflicts of interest that might interfere
11 with the decision-making of the Department;
12 (3) examine any conflicts of interest and management
13 practices of any board or commissioners that oversee
14 the operation of the Department;
15 (4) examine the actions or any conflicts of interest with
16 any foundation that works in conjunction with the
17 operations of the Department;
18 (5) examine the any existing or prior department catalog
19 purchase or purchasing agreement for compliance with
20 state policy on best contract management practices;
21 (6) make a report to the legislature and State Auditor’s
22 Office about the current status implementing policies
23 and management practices that exemplify open and
24 transparent government;
25 (7) take any other action related to implementing an open
26 government policy or recommendation.
