I know there are thousands of worthy causes out there. And I’m certain that you are often asked to donate your precious time, money and attention. I am reluctant to add to your “asks” list but I feel compelled because of such a worthy cause. Today, I am asking for your support of my candidacy for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man & Woman of the Year campaign.
I am taking this campaign for “Woman of the Year” very seriously – not for my own personal pride or recognition – but for Archer and Karen, this year’s Boy and Girl of the Year. Each of these lovable and adorable kids are in treatment for cancer. Their fight, and their families’ struggle, is real. I hope you’ll join me in helping them find better treatment and, ultimately, a cure.
I have set a goal of raising $50,000 by the end of this 10-week campaign. It commences TODAY, Wednesday, March 23rd and ends with a gala on Saturday, June 4th where Austin’s Man & Woman of the Year will be announced. Every dollar counts as a “vote” towards our campaign and the man and woman with the most “votes” will be named “winners.” However, I think you’ll agree that the only real “win” will be seeing hope in the eyes of those receiving treatment…and furthering a path toward a cure for this devastating disease.
If someone in your life has been affected by cancer, please let me know so I can share their story and honor them as well. Thank you so much for your help, as everyone wins when cancer loses and it is your gift that makes a difference!
Your support means the world to me.
Never lose hope. Never give up. Never quit.
