Texas Lobbyist News: Texas Health and Human Services Meetings Posted

The following information is public information by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The Texas Lobby Group is posting it here as a public service for all Texas lobbyists, Texas government officials and consultants, Texas politicians, and other interested parties.

The Texas Health and Human Services System agencies are hosting an annual HUB Vendor Fair on Friday, October 5, 2012, from 7:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Texas State Capitol Extension in Austin.

This free event provides vendors an opportunity to meet agency buyers and features panel discussions on state contracting.  Several state agencies will attend to share information about their agencies HUB program and procurement processes.Presentations and discussions:

Proposed Medicaid Hospice Payment Rates

Hearing. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will conduct a public hearing to receive public comment on proposed Medicaid payment rates for hospice routine home, continuous home, inpatient respite and general inpatient care.  The Medicaid hospice program is operated by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.

The hearing will be held in compliance with Human Resources Code §32.0282 and Texas Administrative Code Title 1, §355.105(g), which require public notice and hearings on proposed Medicaid reimbursements.

Briefing Package.  A briefing package describing the proposed payment rates will be available at http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/rad/rate-packets.shtml on Oct. 9, 2012.  Those interested also may obtain a copy of the briefing package before the hearing by contacting Esther Brown by telephone at 512-491-1445; by fax at 512-491-1998; or by email at Esther.Brown@hhsc.state.tx.us.  The briefing package also will be available at the public hearing.
