Texas 2020 Elections

Primary Election Results. Texans went to the polls on Tuesday, March 3rd to cast ballots in the Democratic and Republican primaries for presidential nominees, seats in the US Congress and Senate, 10 statewide positions, including the U.S. Senate, the Railroad Commissioner, and candidates for 8 seats on the state’s highest courts, the Texas Supreme Court and the Court of Criminal Appeals. Three incumbents will face runoff elections: Senator Eddie Lucio (D-Brownsville); Rep. Dan Flynn (R-Canton); and Rep. J.D. Sheffield (R-Gatesville). The surprise of the evening was Railroad Commissioner Ryan Sitton losing to James Wright. Runoff elections, where necessary, will be held on May 25.
